CLASSES TO CONTINUE

Well it's been a week since we closed the doors at Mitchelton and I am still sieving through the boxes to sort and organise the left over stock, shop fittings, paper racks and of course dreaded paperwork. I have managed to take time for a massage, lunch with my husband and friends, a dinner party, an outing to Ikea and organised the rest of the lounge room furniture and a new bed for my weary body so for those wondering if I'm enjoying retirement - it is great!!!

In amongst all that though Jo and I have been working together to present another one of our ever popular 10 LAYOUT classes which is scheduled for:

Saturday 11th September
Time: 10am- 1pm
Cost: $60.00 (includes materials)
Participants will need to bring trimmer and adhesives.

For those who cannot make it, kits can be ordered and you can book a day to come down and copy the layouts or we will email photos of each layout to you when you collect your kit.

We have negotiated with Gayle to use the upstairs area of her new store, A Place to Create, as a class area to run these classes so we have had a new classroom table built, by our good friends at Albany Creek Kitchens, that is bigger and better than before and we are ready to start putting together more classes for you to enjoy.

Jo has also created a gorgeous desk organiser using Kaisercraft's Hippy Girl paper range of papers and rub ons and is presenting this class soon. Check the website at A Place to Create for details. You can also see the sample in store at A Place To Create.

We are also working on a Christmas fun day which will include Christmas cards and Ornate Christmas frames presented by A Creative Place and fantastic Christmas wood projects presented by A Place to Create. Simply book one class or stay for the day and join in all the classes.

After the clean up we still have a number of 12x12 black paper racks left over which you can purchase for $30.00 each or 2 for $50.00. These can be collected from A Place to Create during their opening hours.
Remember if you stack these inside a cupboard or side by side you can put a board on top to make a shelf for more storage. With only one week to go and new lines arriving last week, we’ve still got lots of great stock and even better bargains for you to grab. Remember we only have 7 days left of trading before we shut the doors forever.

For the last week we have heaps of stock reduced up to 75% off. Check out our bargain table of 50 cent items including Kaiser bling, chatterbox ribbons, MM 8” letters, Kaiser wood letters and KF title rub ons.

We’ve added more tables to the half price area at the front of the store and added lots of new lines. All Christmas wood is now 50% off too.
Printblocks albums came in on Thursday and have nearly all run out the doors so be quick – there’s 25% off all albums.

The workers started pulling down things this weekend so it’s starting to feel very real that it’s nearly over for A Creative Place.

It is with regret that we inform you that our final date of trading has been brought forward to Sunday 15th August 2010 so there is no time to delay if you need some stocks. We will also be endeavouring to fill all remaining orders. Printblocks albums should be in in the next few days along with some additional cardstock and some of our new travel range papers.

It seems to be unanimous that it was a huge success, with everyone loving their classes and enjoying their cropping sessions. So much so that we have booked the date for out next Claytons Retreat.

Well all the kits have been packed.... the teachers are pumped and ready to inspire you... are you ready?

If you have booked into tonight's Ladies Night Out you are in for a special treat, we have some gorgeous Make and Takes for you to create and a fun night planned for you all. All you need to bring tonight is yourself and some money if you would like extra drinks as we will have our very own bar running throughout the night.

Class Participant Info - For those booked into classes over the weekend please bring along with you to all classes your basic tool kits including adhesives, ink pads etc

Crop Participant Info - If you have booked into our Crops bring along your Ott Lights if you have one as the lighting is not what us crafters are used to (remember functions rooms are made to be cosy) Also as this is a licensed venue you cannot bring any food or drinks with your apart from a bag of lollies. You will be able to purchase drinks from the bar and Tea & Coffee will be provided. Another note to remember is as you will be cropping away from the store you will not have access to all of our class tools or access to the shop so you will have to plan your projects that you bring with you.

PS - Bring some coins with you so you can participate in our raffles and games.

We have booked the function rooms at The Brook Hotel (next to the shop) for a weekend of creativity.
Starting off on Friday night

Showcase & Make and Takes
we will bring to you all that is new in the scrapbooking, stamping and card making world, showcasing new tools and products. We will also be having Make and Take Stations on the night.
Saturday 22nd Classes & Cropping
Saturday we will have classes going all day and then from 1pm we will open up the crop room where you are able to crop until 1am.
Sunday 23rd Classes and Cropping
Sunday brings more classes using the latest products and the crop room will be open all day today.

We will have more information on classes and costing soon, until then please contact the store to pop your name down or for any expressions of interest.

Time for the Easter Bunny to visit – hope he brings you some fun things to play with from your favourite craft store. After all who needs more chocolate? Okay scratch that last bit – chocolate and scrapping stuff is probably a better option.

The new Karen Foster Easter range just arrived this week and the 3Bugs “Little Chick” range is very cute for Easter cards and projects.

A great range of new specialty prints has arrived including tropical, butterflies, soccer, baby and fairy party ranges. New glitter stickers in, restocks of craft stickers and new rub on sticker transfers that make great borders for layouts.

Our garage sale kicks off on Sunday at 12noon so only one more day to get in any last minute things to sell. Otherwise we look forward to seeing you Sunday to grab a bargain. We have cleaned out all our punches, stencils, Cuttlekids and Sizzix sidekick. There’s even some dies for big shot and Sizzix including alphas and shapes.

We’ll give you some coded labels to put on your bags with your prices and you can go home and price and label your items and return them to us between Thursday 25th March and Saturday 27th March. We will then put them in the sale on Sunday 28th.

Remember people will be looking for bargains and will love finding items that are no longer readily available (eg. carl punches, templates, tools, left over stickers that you no longer need, and paper and card packs, even unused albums and storage items.)

Store credit can be spent once remaining items are collected.

Registration is $5.00.

After two weeks of almost unimaginable disbelief and a torrent of mixed emotions I would like to share my wonderful news. It was a real concern two weeks ago that my melanoma had shifted into my spinal cord and into my brain. BUT- yes there is a but!!

Welcome to 2010 ~ let's hope it is a better one for many of us than 2009. Many of us hoped that 2009 was going to be great after the storms of the previous November but for many this wasn't the case and for small business it was certainly the most difficult year to date with the first recession many of us have experienced in some years. It has had a huge impact on our small family business but we have hopefully survived the worst and look forward to trying to survive this year with the support of all of our loyal customers. We hope 2010 will be a more prosperous one for all of you and your families and look forward to sharing a better year ahead. On a personal note, my wish for my family and my dear friend Gayle is for a much healthier and happier 2010.

Between Christmas and New Year we spent many hours sorting and tidying the store to make way for new lines arriving this year which means we have some great specials to share with you to clear out old stocks. Check your emails or in store for full details of special offers available. For those who struggle with change, here's a few photos to give you an idea what to expect when you next visit. We've moved the Christmas section to the back of the store and tidied it all up (our sale between Christmas and New year saw much of this move so we will top it up soon).

Christmas Section

All of our card making packs, envelopes, jac paper, vellums, books and specialty papers have moved to the front of the store and are so much easier to view with all the natural light.

Ribbons are enjoying pride of place at the front door and all the little girls (and not so little ones) are enjoying the new range. Have you seen the new woven ribbons with elephants and oriental themes as well as a new range of black and whites?

Albums and refills have moved to the back corner of the store with paper pads and page kits right along side for quick planning. Tools, punches and storage have also moved to this area.

K&Co chipboard and stickers arrived just before Christmas and are now all displayed above Bo Bunny stickers.

Chipboard is now spread out opposite Cricut and Cuttlebug directly opposite the counter area. More words, swirls and flourishes have been ordered and should arrive late January when the warehouse reopens.

Hopefully you will enjoy rediscovering all your favourite products along with some new ones. Don't forget that we have a great are for cropping now and you are welcome to join us every Friday morning for free cropping and creating ~ bookings are required. Evening crops are listed on our class schedule as dates become available. We are also thinking of trialling some more Friday night sessions with Gayle, Jo and Sharon be sure to support these when they come along if you want to see them become a regular event on our schedule.

Well we are open again after our two day break for Christmas. We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and enjoyed special time with family and friends. Hopefully you all found some time to scrap or make cards or work on those projects that you've been planning for so long.

The store re-opened Sunday and will be open until 5pm Thursday (New Year's Eve) so you can keep creating. Kaiser arrived Christmas eve and should be unpacked fully tomorrow. It should include rhinestones, hanging flourish frames and restocks of your favourite papers.

There are still some of the brand new PINK CUTTLEBUGS available if you got cash for Christmas. It's time to grab one if you've been thinking about spoiling yourself.

If you would like to work on a particular project or just escape the kids, we are offering out our classroom tables for free for you and friends to get some quality crafting time in before the New Year. Teenagers are welcome (over 13 years) as are Mother / daughters and any other combination of keen crafters. Just be sure to call the store and book a time so we can make sure the tables are ready for you. (Ph: 3855 8777)

Come on in before Thursday to get core'Dinations card stock for the ridiculous price of 10 for $5.00 - that's half price.

We've also got great discounts off heaps of books, Cuttlebug folders and dies in store and Cricut cartridges.

All Basic Grey single sided papers are clearing out to make way for the new ranges at only $1.00 / sheet.

If you're worried about the budget we've got a great selection of papers for only 50 cents each - great for the kids, great for you!

This week only we will also be taking 20% off all Christmas embellishments. Don't worry scrappers - we will be keeping a Christmas section until you get your photos ready but this is an incentive to get started NOW!
